Assemblyman Bucco: Latest Tax Ranking Proves High Taxes Are Dragging Down New Jersey

New Jersey’s tax climate once again ranked worst in the nation according to a national survey conducted by the nonprofit Tax Foundation, which is further proof that the Republican philosophy to cut taxes is needed to grow the state’s economy and create jobs, said Assemblyman Anthony M. Bucco.

The report, available at taxfoundation.org, specifically cites New Jersey as one of eight states whose tax base causes “an unnecessary drag on economic activity.”

“Everyone knows taxes are a drag, but this is proof that high taxes are literally dragging down New Jersey,” said Bucco, R-Morris and Somerset, a member of the Assembly’s Commerce and Economic Development and Budget committees.

“It should also serve as a deterrent to Democrats in Trenton who oppose Governor Christie’s income tax cut and want to raise taxes on taxpayers who have a legitimate gripe when it comes to complaining about being overtaxed,” he added.

The report noted that recent actions by New Jersey show the beginnings of improvement for New Jersey, including reducing the minimum tax on S corporations and reducing restrictions on the ability to carry forward net operating losses.

“This report also proves that we’re on the right path to rebuild our economy by reducing burdens on businesses,” Bucco said. “If we follow the Governor’s plan and lower taxes, our business climate will improve. More importantly, we will continue to add to the more than 60,000 private-sector jobs created in New Jersey over the past two years.” TLS.

This is not rocket science , Why would any politician not be in favor of reducing taxes in these troubling financial times families are experiencing ?

  2. To number 1

Obviously democrats will never come out and say they are pro raising taxes. They twist it and will say things like “we’re against tax cuts for the rich on the backs for the working poor”

What they really mean to say is “raise taxes raise taxes” but if they actually tell you that, nobody would vote for them

  3. Really,
That extra 50 dollars a year is going to pull the economy out of the recession? One tank full of gas makes you want to dance in the street?
This is presidential tracked Christie pandering to his conservative base.
    (“I lowered taxes!!”)
It’s not the income tax killing us it’s property taxes!
And until members of BOTH parties lose the you can’t cut MY constituent’s program attitude we will NEVER get ANY tax relief!
Remember, both parties gave the ok for taxes to rise 02% a year.
That more than eats up my income tax relief.
AND WE ALL KEEP VOTING THEM ALL BACK IN AGAIN AND AGAIN!!
