BREAKING NEWS: [UPDATED COUNT] [VIDEO Of Harav Simcha Bunim Speaking At Rally] The Assembly moments ago voted on the same-gender bill 42-33, 42 for the bill and 33 against it. There were not enough votes for to override Governor Christie’s veto. The Governor is expected to veto the bill.
Harav Simcha Bunim Cohen Shlita, the Rav of Ateres Yeshaya and grandson of Harav Avigdor Miller Zatzal, was among those attending the anti-same-gender rally in Trenton today. Flanked by a crowd holding signs expressing their displeasure with the bill, Harav Cohen got up to the microphone and thanked the crowd for showing their support.
“G-D bless all those who took the time to come today for one of the most important issues”, Rav Cohen said in a Yiddish speech which was translater by Rabbi Moshe Breler, the arranger of the rally. “G-D bless you all.”
The bill now heads to the Governor’s desk and is expected to be vetoed, as promised by the Governor. TLS.
Now we will see what the Governor is really made of…….Keep your promise VETO it.
Does anyone why Rav Cohen Shlit”a spoke in Yiddish with a (interesting) translation. He knows how to speak English. He has so much more to say on this topic. Why so short??
Thsi is all politics, The democrats were not able to pass this when Corzine was in office. Now we have a republican governor who has national aspirations and they all of a sudden are able to pass it. It is all a set up…..
