The Jackson Branch of the Ocean County Library will host “Public Benefits for Older Adults,” a free presentation by AARP, at 6:30 PM on Monday, November 16.
Life happens, and sometimes unexpected life events can lead to long-term financial challenges. The rising cost of living can make balancing your budget challenging, and if you’re facing circumstances beyond your control and need a little help, you may be eligible for public benefits that can relieve the burden.
An AARP volunteer will cover the various public benefits available in New Jersey, who is eligible, and how to apply. The presentation will also provide information about money for groceries, benefits to lower your medical and household expenses, assistance with lowering student loan payments, and more. Programs covered include Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8), LIHEAP, Medicaid, and SNAP (food stamps).
Even if you’re unsure whether you meet the required income levels, you are sure to find something of value in this informative program.
Registration is required for this free program. To register, visit tinyurl.com/JacksonAARP, call 732-928-4400, or stop by the branch at 2 Jackson Drive.
