A community music open house will take place in Lakewood this Sunday afternoon, bringing together music instructors, instruments, giveaways and on-site musical gear sales under one roof.
Bassline Productions will host the event on Sunday, October 11, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Bnos Orchos Chaim, 440 Oberlin Avenue.
Throughout the afternoon, children will be able to try a variety of instruments for themselves, including keyboard, guitar, drums and violin. Bassline’s instructors will be on site as well, giving families an opportunity to meet them, ask questions and get a closer look at the different lesson options.
No previous musical experience is necessary.
Bassline, founded by longtime Lakewood music instructor Shmuel Bassman, began with keyboard instruction and has since expanded to include guitar, drums and violin. In addition to its Lakewood-based keyboard lessons, the program now offers online instruction and an internet-free USB program that allows students to learn from home without an internet connection.
Also participating in Sunday’s event will be Keynote Music, which will be on site with musical instruments and gear available at significantly discounted event pricing.
The afternoon will include face painting, giveaways and major prize drawings. A grand-prize winner will receive a Korg PA600 keyboard or a choice of instrument, with the instruments sponsored by Keynote.
Rather than a formal presentation, the event is being set up as an open-house format, allowing families to stop in during the afternoon, walk around, try the instruments and speak directly with the instructors.
The event will run from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. this Sunday, October 11, at Bnos Orchos Chaim, 440 Oberlin Avenue in Lakewood.
