97-Year-Old Man Dies In Brick Crash

A 97-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Brick Township on Monday evening, September 28.

Brick Township Police responded at approximately 7:15 p.m. to the intersection of Drum Point Road and Johnson Road following reports of a crash with injuries.

Police say a preliminary investigation found that a 2024 Hyundai Elantra traveling eastbound on Drum Point Road crossed the painted center median and collided with a 2026 Cadillac Escalade traveling westbound.

The driver of the Hyundai, identified as 97-year-old Frank Pugliese, suffered fatal injuries in the crash.

The driver of the Cadillac, identified as 36-year-old Taylor Reinig, suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Drum Point Road was closed in both directions for approximately five hours while investigators processed the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Brick Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit.
