4-Way Stop Approved for Intersection of 2nd Street and Monmouth Avenue

blinking stop signThe Township last night approved the placement of 4-way stop signs at the intersection of 2nd Street and Monmouth Avenue.

The intersection, which currently has stop signs between west-east, was especially dangerous for drivers driving eastbound on Second Street, due to the curve on Monmouth Avenue southbound.

The stop signs are expected to be installed in the coming weeks.

Rules for 4-way:

The driver of a vehicle approaching an intersection shall yield the right of way to a vehicle which has entered the intersection. When two vehicles enter an intersection at the same time, the driver of the vehicle on the left shall yield the right of way to the driver of the vehicle on the right.
