$4.2 Million Old Pine Acres Sewer Job Up For Vote At Lakewood MUA

The Lakewood MUA will vote on a change to the project bringing public sewer lines to the Old Pine Acres neighborhood, according to the authority.

The notice puts the construction at $4,220,268, financed by the New Jersey Water Bank, a state low-interest loan program. The state Infrastructure Bank says the MUA closed on a $4.9 million Water Bank loan for the system.

The project lets homeowners on Erica Road, Lucy Road, Colleton Street, Jeffery Street, Eisenhower Street, Stark Street, Marshall Street and McArthur Street connect to public sewer and remove their septic fields.

Separately, the MUA has posted the state’s Winter Termination Program notice. Customers who receive help from programs such as HEAP, SSI, PAAD or Lifeline, or who cannot pay because of job loss, illness or a death in the family, are protected from water and sewer shutoffs from November 15 through March 15. They must tell the utility they qualify.
