  1. Why dont they turn on the traffic light? This accident would have been avoided! The traffic light has been covered for 4 months already!

  2. They have to wait for the Ocean County to turn on the light..its not a local thing..it has to wait till the order comes thru at the county level

  3. If motorists stopped at the stop sign (which has been there at least since 1980’s) , then yielded to right of way vehicles there wouldn’t be even a need for a traffic light. The county is not going to put traffic lights up all over town because people cannot pay attention when they drive.

  4. What’s up with all the traffic on chestnut heAding towards route nine? Anything happen on the corner of route nine and chestnut??

  5. Thank you #3. I’m sure in your world everything is black and white, not just the BMG uniform. In the real world that corner requires a lot of judgement and it it is not always easy o make the right call.

  6. #3, I don’t know if you were around in the 80’s but I could assure you, that the current population in Lakewood has since tripled. As a result, more traffic lights are necessary. According to your wonderful logic, perhaps they should only put stop signs on Route 9. And then people will nicely yield to each other.
Oh, and I’m sure that there was not a traffic light at each corner in brooklyn in the 40’s. Get with the times. More cars on the road require more lights to keep us safe. When you stop at a stop sign and wait a long time to safely cross, a lot of times people eventually make a dash for it. And then sometimes…

  7. # 5 and # 7 learn to drive, get off your cell phones, leave your house ten minutes earlier or go back to Brooklyn. We have enough traffic lights in this town.

  8. The moment you have a license in hand and get behind the wheel, you are taking on a huge responsibility. If someone can’t make the right “call” when operating a motor vehicle, they should return their license, instead of driving and risking their life as well as the lives of others.

There is a clear cut big red STOP sign on that corner. You must Stop AT the STOP sign, not AFTER the STOP sign. AT the STOP sign. Then pull up to the corner, and wait till it is safe to proceed. If there is a lot of traffic, remain at the corner till it is safe to turn. Do not GO because the driver behind is honking, or you feel you have been waiting “long enough,” or any other excuses that can result in a crash and/or other hazards.

When you received your license, you as the driver Agreed to follow the Laws of the road, or else suffer the consequences.

    Be Safe & Hatzlacha!
