PHOTOS: [NEW PHOTOS] 200 bikers arrived to Camp Simcha at about 2:30 PM this afternoon after riding 150 miles to raise money for Chai Lifeline. Board of Education member Joel Schwartz was one of those who made the trip.
Joel says it was very stressful ride, but says the thought of the children at the finish line is what got him through.
“This was the greatest physical challenges I ever faced”, Joel tells TLS, “but seeing the campers celebrate upon our entry made it all worthwhile.”
The bikers raised a total of $1,771,051.96, nearly doubling their goal of $1 million. Last year, the ride brought in about $550,000. Photos: TLS & Lenny Groysman.

Thank You Dovid Egert for starting this great fundraising drive for a wonderful organisation, It`s amazing what one man can do,
what a “zchus”
The riders did a great job. Keep in mind these 2 days were challenging and thats with some training. The challenge and pain these kids and the families go thru every day, without any pre training. The chizuk the riders give to the kids and families is tremendous. May you be zocah to only know of the pain and challenges of this wonderful chesed you all did
What will happen when women want to join this bike ride? How will they be able to get out of it? It is dangerous to publicize this thing too much.
FYI there IS a chai lifeline bike ride for women that is not publicized in lakewood. it is a much shorter route obviously (-;
well it makes even us parents of the riders proud – to have brought up such good “SPORTS” !!
You all will have an great & uplifting Shabbes EKEV, to have all of us inspired to follow your “footsteps” on bike or in other ways…..!!
