2.27 Miles Of Lakewood County Roads Up For Repaving

Ocean County is taking bids to mill and repave 2.27 miles of county roads in Lakewood.

Besides the repaving, the contract covers replacing deteriorated drainage pipe, rebuilding ADA curb ramps, changing three existing traffic signals, and new stripes and markings. The county puts the construction cost at $1 million to $5 million.

More county road work is lined up in Lakewood on Cross Street. The county opened bids October 20 for Phase 2 of the Cross Street reconstruction, from Prospect Street to Augusta Boulevard. That job covers about 0.6 miles of widening, stormwater work, traffic signal installation and utility relocations, estimated at $5 million to $10 million. The county’s portal lists it as under evaluation.

The commissioners’ October 21 agenda also included approving plans and seeking bids for Phase 3, from Prospect Street to James Street.

No construction start dates have been announced for any of the three jobs.Click here to join the official TLS Community
