Ocean County’s engineering department lists 13 active county road work zones outside Lakewood, from gas and water main jobs to paving. Here’s where they are.
JACKSON
- West Veterans Highway, Cassville Road to Thompson Bridge Road: water main and sanitary force main installation. Alternating traffic.
- West Veterans Highway, Harvard Drive to Prospertown Road: sewer and water main installation. Alternating traffic.
- New Central Avenue and North Hope Chapel Road roundabout: road reconfiguration. Road closure.
TOMS RIVER
- Bey Lea Road, Garden State Parkway to Old Freehold Road: striping, box-out and turn lanes, and drainage. Lane shifts and shoulder closures.
- Church Road, Hooper Avenue to Adirondack Place: gas main installation. Lane shifts.
- Walnut Street and Old Freehold Road: gas main replacement. Lane shifts.
- Hooper Avenue, Washington Street to Madison Avenue: Justice Complex annex and pedestrian skywalk work. Lane closures, a reduced speed limit, and Saturday road closures through January 1, 2027.
- Bay Avenue, Fischer Boulevard to Barnegat Bay (also Point Pleasant and Bay Head): milling and paving. Lane closures.
BRICK
- Van Zile Road, Route 70 to Burnt Tavern Road: gas main installation. Alternating traffic.
- Princeton Avenue, Post Road to Beaver Dam Road: driveway paving. Shoulder closures.
ELSEWHERE
- Ridgeway Road at Beacon Street, Manchester: drainage and traffic signal installation, road widening, and paving and striping. Lane shifts.
- Lake Street and Union Avenue, Lakehurst: gas main replacement. Lane shifts.
- Bridge Avenue at Duff Place, Point Pleasant: pipe work. Road closure.
