Lakewood Duck Community Thanks the Township for Gifting the Community With Six New Duck Boats
The Duck community of Lakewood, NJ issued a statement on Tuesday thanking the township for gifting the local duck population with six new duck boats to be used for boat rentals.
“For years on end, Lakewood ducks have observed with envy their human counterparts enjoying beautiful boat rides across the lake, while they, the ducks, have been forced to float across the water 24/7 with no separation between their delicate skin and the polluted waters,” said Lakewood Duck community President, Bill Quackstone. “Thankfully, the new duck boats will provide the ducks with a new lease on life and a necessary respite from the grueling effects of skin-to-water contact.”
When asked whether the ducks would pay for the boat rentals with cash, Mr. Quackstone told reporters that, “Unfortunately, the ducks and their bills are inseparable because ducks, like most other birds, can not survive without their bills, hence we can only pay with worms, flies, snails or tiny fish.”
