Chaveirim of Central Jersey held a training session this week for their members on the safe use of electric vehicle chargers, as the organization looks to keep pace with the growing number of EVs on the road.
With the number of electric vehicles rising, Chaveirim volunteers are increasingly being called upon to assist motorists with charging-related issues, especially during the summer months, with air conditioning running constantly, car batteries have been dying more frequently.
The training was designed to ensure volunteers can respond safely and effectively to these calls. Topics covered included proper handling of charging equipment, recognizing potential electrical hazards, and how to safely connect and disconnect vehicles from chargers.

Because heat needs to be powered by the battery – it’s not a byproduct of hot engine anymore. Does it actually take more electricity than a/c?
Yes, I looked it up, it seems it takes more energy to produce heat than a/c. So, apparently the one who wrote the article was just making an assumption off the top of their head. This is fact checking. Or, it could be people drive farther in summer than winter, so the issue of batteries going out happens more then. But if so, once again, the lomdus (technical analyses) has little to do with a/c. (This is what happens when you have such articles in LAKEWOOD. Now let’s get back to the gemara!:)
