Yekkes have a minhag to sing a song about Bais Hamikdash at chuppa before breaking glass. But I’ve heard that for others to start is not so simple. I heard that a certain gadol spoke out against doing so. While it may sound funny at first, there are reasons for things, and one should ask before starting new minhagim.
I’m not saying about this vid – maybe they asked, no idea. What I wonder is why they chose this song, I’d at least choose something upbeat about longing for geula. This song sounds more about remembering Holocaust. At least that’s how Shmuel Borger introduces it on his tape.
