With the upcoming Yom Tov season approaching, Lakewood Deputy Mayor Menashe Miller, in coordination with Commissioner Sam Ellenbogen, led a team from the Lakewood Township DPW and Ocean County in trimming branches overhanging from cemeteries throughout the area.

The work was done to ensure that Kohanim walking underneath the trees do not encounter issues from branches extending over cemetery grounds.

The trimming also helps prepare for the upcoming winter months, says Miller, reducing the risk of branches falling and potentially injuring pedestrians or damaging vehicles.
