We regret to inform you of the sudden passing of David Garfield Z”L.
David was a current member of the Board, having been appointed in 2017. He was approximately 80 years old.
“David was a gentle man with a great smile and kind heart,” said fellow Planning Board member Justin Flancbaum. “We’ll miss him.”
Board member Eli Rennert says David was a special man.
“He was a very special person who always had a smile and cheerful hello,” said Eli. “The entire board always looked forward to hear his perspective.”
Moshe Raitzik added, “Mr. Garfield was a beloved and respected member of the Planning Board. His genteel manner and kind words will be sorely missed.”
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30am, at the Floral Park Cemetery, located at 104 Deans Rhode Hall Road, Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852. Shiva will follow at his home at 41 Rosewood Drive in Lakewood.
Our sympathies are with his wife Rae during this difficult time.
What a mentch. Always had the interest of Lakewood residents on his mind. I hope his replacement on the board will strive to live up to his reputation.
