I didn’t know about the rainbow, but, I believe it is not a good sign to see a rainbow.

There is one issue about not staring at it…there is another about not telling someone else.

I actually asked my rav too, and he said it’s not a problem to tell your friend about a rainbow which you saw in the past. Only pointing it out while it’s going on is an issue.
Actually, according to R’ Yonasan Eibshutz, rainbows are only a bad sign if it appears on a clear day, not after rain. If it appears after a rainstorm it is a natural phenomenon and is not a problem.
