Yet Again: Multiple Homes Burglarized Over Shabbos; Cash, Jewelry And Drugs Stolen

Multiple homes in the Sunset and James area were burglarized over Shabbos, neighbors tell TLS. At least four homes near New England Village were burglarized, with the burglars unlocking either a window or sliding door, a neighbor says.

One of the homes had a ladder from its pool stolen, which the burglar used to climb into a dining room window, the neighbor says.

The burglar made off with a gold watch and other jewelry, cash, and prescription drugs.

CIU is investigating.

  1. I heard one of the neighbors that got robbed has his son go to rt 9 before 5am to flag a cop down. The boy told the cop what happens but they never showed up to investigate. They might have prevented the other burglaries had the showen up!

  2. these robberies continue happening for the same reason that we are having such tragedies-of Gedolim & innocent other niftar R”L Etc…-A MAJOR problem effecting todays generation of instant gradification. FACING REALITY & DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT. when we don’t do anything about robbers they continue coming with no fear involved-knowing we will never listen to the experienced when they tell us to put up locks & alarms etc….When tragedies occur in klal yisroel R”L & no Gedolim or anyone do anything to stop it i.e. teshuva, fasting etc… then we leave Hashem no choice BUT to send us another reminer wak-up call R”L

May we all learn from our mistakes & FACE REALITY by doing something about it so we won’t need to hear of more robberies or Tragedies C”V

A gut voch & may everyone be -nachamu nachamu-comforted ASAP with the rebuilding of the 3rd Bais Hamikdosh B’karov

  3. I hope they don’t rob my house generator!!!….I’m going to Israel for a few days….and who knows if there we’ll be a blackout again!!!

  4. I can not believe that a police officer was flagged down, but did not show up. Very hard to believe. These police officers are dedicated to the town, do you really think one would jeopardize his career by not going to a call, especially a burglary? Come on now. I say someone is fibbing.

  5. Beware! New England Villagers are stockpiling! (Some of them, anyway……..) Its only a matter of time till they try hitting the wrong (right…) house! With street names like “Canonball” “Flintlock” and “Powderhorn” some are taking advantage of their second ammendment “Liberty”!

  6. I asked a rav . Being
That there are multiple robberies one should call the police on shabbos as they might be robbing your neighbor next. If its at night.

  7. If the person who sent a child to flag down a police officer would call me, monday @ 732-363-0200×5381, that alleged incident will be fully investigated. Thankyou.

  8. Its unfortunate that that these weekly stories r not news any more, it has become part of the regular day 2 day life in our town! Where r the askonim? LCSW? Our Police dept. Security when needed!!!!

  9. I dont understand if your house is broken into why dont you call the police yourself. If my stuff was stolen you bet your sweet cheeks I would be calling.

  10. tell your neighbor’s if you are going away, they can keep an eye on your place, keep all the light on, and most of all lock your doors and windows.

  11. The mandatory minimum for officers working on the weekend should be much hire than it is. This would increase the safety of the officers working and the safety of the citizens in Lakewood. Just make sure they are competent officers first.

  12. After all these comments, is anything gonna change? I think we should barrage the Mayors office, and anyone else of authority to come up with some sort of plan. Is anything gonna change? We must start putting on pressure to our local officials. If we all do a little it would add up a lot. For example we need to pressure them to have more cops out on the streets patrolling. Why do they just stay at base?? I can be wrong on this example as it is just that- an example. But we need plans. Put pressure on elected officials. Make one call tomorrow. Please.

  13. Hire more police officers to be able to do certain task to handle these serious issues. What people fail to understand is lpd is very understaffed to place officers on special assignment. Plain and simple. When are we hiring again or when are we goin to hold a vote to make the decision on hiring more officers?

  14. Lock your Windows, lock your doors, make sure your vehicle is locked. Most or all of these burglaries would have been prevented if that was the case. These aren’t strong ARM or forced entries…whoever is doing this knows about Jewish religion and goes house to house shaking doors and checking Windows. That’s why ou see multiple break one on a street. Just because its a “jewish” neighborhood doesn’t mean there’s and invisible fence keeping untrustworthy criminals out. A tad of common sense would save many from heartbreak. Ha and maybe if someone donated 1/4 of a million dollars to actual police vehicles and not some outlandish tank for the away team, the force might be able to invest in some unmarked vehicles….again, common sense

  15. Question: Is it really necessary to hire more police officers? Shouldn’t the people arm themselves instead? That would solve lots of problems, and bring down the town’s expenses.

  16. i used to live in denver many years ago–and there was a spate of home robberies every shabbos—-the common link was the cleaning lady–the thieves always knew where to look for valuables–and flee quickly

  17. I know s/o who had his business burglarized on Rt. 9 in that area this past weekend. We really need to put pressure on our representitives to get to the bottom of this and find the perpetrators once and for all!!!!

If they’d put there undercover resources to work I’m sure they’d me find pretty soon.
