Yeshivahs Torah Temimah of Lakewood has been shut down by the inspection department, TLS has learned. The department apparently boarded up the two adjacent homes after neighbor complaints. The Yeshivah-under the leadership of Reb Moshe Shimon Luria Shlita-has nearly seventy Bachurim ranging from 9th grade through 11th grade. Seder this evening has been cancelled as Askonim work on a solution.

Is the inspection Dept not right. Building was never inspected for a school. Was not built to school standereds.

Ron jackubowicz a building inspector stormed into the building without permission screaming and yelling that he will put these children in jail.

How would you all like it if a yeshiva moved in next to your house?? I think the owners of these houses, and the Roshei Yehiva should sit down with neighbors before invading a neighborhood. Property values plummet. You have no more privacy. It’s just plain disgusting. I bentsch every mosad (or landlord) that does this to someone, to have to endure the same problems that the neighbors do.

if its true what is posted then Ron should be fired. There is away to act even when doing their jobs. acting like a “gestapo” screaming maniac is no excuse.
I wasn’t there, but I understand teenage boys as well as the next person.
If it is true that Ron was screaming about jail, and I don’t doubt it, he didn’t go in there brandishing a weapon and terrorizing children. What obviously happened is that he went in there to perform his inspection. He obviously was threatened, or at least taunted, by the boys. So he warned the boys to stop, and probably started yelling when they didn’t, and probably threatened the children with arrest if they hamper him in his official duties.
Come on, even if YOU don’t undestand boys, weren’t you one yourself not that long ago (sorry, ladies, I don’t mean you)
Why do you take the side of the offenders. The Inspector is looking for revenue. If the building was not up to standards and unsafe for the children, it should be closed down. The Reb is not denying that there is a problem.
Ron (or yerachmiel as he likes to be called) should be used to this type of stuff I’m sure he pulled off the same type of shinanogins when he was in telz when he was a bachur
i spoke to a student there and he said that RON from lakewood inspection depatment came barging in screaming and waiving his hands threatening to put all of us in jail .
its the twp. who receives the call and Mike Sacamano sends one of the [Fred, Jose, Ralph, Ron] inspectors to check it out and if for some reason they don’t like what they see they could shut the place down however Ron likes to take these matters “extremely” seriously he’ll get over it

Ron does get excited yes he does but as a whole the Building Dept is the most understanting Dept in town and if you just follow the rules yes the inspecters respect you and you respect them – we all have our moments but I ask why cant’t it be done legal
Many of us remember the fire (seton hall) since them STATE mandate is the all Dorms MUST HAVE SPRINKLERS

If anyone knows rabbi luria and rabbi margolis, they will know that they are not ones to endager the lives of bochurim and will do everything the legal way. Obviously, for some reason, someone is bothered by the yeshiva in that location and asked the inspection department to inspect. They probably found a minor violation, which often occurs and can be easily corrected.
I don’t understand, if Ron was once a Yesiva Bocher in Telshe as mentioned earlier than why would he act so mean to them? Maybe he just missis those good old days and is jelus of the Bochrim. I think someone should try to offer to sit and learn with him, that might bring forward a niceness in him that noone knows is even there.

it has nothing to do with Ron or it not being up to code, hopefully it will all be straightened out.
I used to learn there 1 seder a day. 1st there is no dorm there. 2nd they have all req. Safety equip. Prob just minor infraction. Also generally treat neighbors with respect
He stormed into my house saying he’ll call the police because supposedly we had no c of o which was untrue. We had a temporary c of o. He’s just looking for trouble. I’m not unvalidating the other issues but as far as Ron he’s out of control and must be stopped.

My personal take is: you start up with kavod hatorah and you loose your paranasah. This will be a wait and see game.
He is afraid that Jeff is making a deal with the feds and will bring him down. LOL
I also know nothing about this case, but I have personally dealt with Ron on quite a few projects. He is absolutely out of controll in his behavior. However, when it comes to being understanding, he IS pretty good about settling things in a fair way. If he would just count to 10 before he ventures out like a madman, he might actually avoid so much grief for himself and for the entire community.
Someone so out of control has no business dealing with the public . Simple as that

The oilam must understand that one can’t just put up for walls and call it a yeshivah. Over crowding wich is a fire hazzard, health issues such as cleanliness of the facilty are very important and are unfortunatly overlooked by the hanhala of these yeshivos and this puts the studens in harms way. How can these bucharim have the proper midos if they are not shown the proper way to lead thier lives. in clean bais medrash and by roshei yeshiva that follows dinei malchusaei dina ! Even if the inspection officals are nuts! You still must comply with the rules!

To help anyone with stress, I suggest yoga, meditation, & Tai Chi.
I was once sitting inside a bais medrash that Ron came to shut down. He let loose the most vile and reprehensible string of expletives- in front of the aron kodesh, etc. Very few people were there so the situation was not by its nature intimidating, nor did any of the few people act in any way confrontational. No matter his possible frustration, his behavior was inexcusable. I am glad to hear that he can come to a fair understanding- I suppose that the end result is the most important. I do, however, strongly feel that the holy places of our community should be treated with as much respect as -l’havdil- what other taxpayers would demand and receive for their churches, etc. No report was filed about his behavior to his superiors simply out of fear of retribution. They are able to make lives miserable…
People with no idea comment on the actions of the inspector rather than look at the real issue. This is a residental home. It may not have a change of use variance, it may not have been inspected for a school. IF there had been a fire in this building due to improper or non existent precautions who would have been screaming loudest ? Would it have been the inspectors fault then for leaving them open ? This issue is not the person, it is safety. I personally would thank the department for doing their job . You may not like it or be happy about it but be realistic about it. There are regulations for reasons.
New moysdoys need to be considerate of their neighbors. Not everyone who opposes the prsence of a shul or school is wrong. It is difficult to live with the noise, people, vehicles. In Lakewood yeshivas should follow the lead of Orchos Chaim and get a building in an industrial park where no one will be disturbes. Torah teminmah should be able to go first class..
