Yeshiva Shaarei Tzion has announced it is going the RJJ network.

The following is a letter sent yesterday to parents:

Dear Yeshiva Shaarei Tzion Parents,

With thanks to Hashem I am pleased to announce an exciting development which offers Yeshiva Shaarei Tzion a great opportunity and financial strength, while bringing a measure of relief to our parent body.

Yeshiva Shaarei Tzion was founded twenty seven years ago, with a fledgling kindergarten class of fourteen students, and has grown into a school with three divisions and close to 500 students, bli eyin hora. YST’s reputation for overall excellence is well known and respected throughout the world of Jewish education. This recognition is a result of the hard work of all the individuals who have invested their tremendous talent in building a fine institution.

As a result of our successful track record, Yeshiva Shaarei Tzion has been invited — and has agreed — to join the Rabbi Jacob Joseph School family of schools (Central RJJ). Under the leadership of Dr. Marvin Schick, the RJJ network of schools currently includes five institutions – four elementary schools in Staten Island and the Edison Mesivta and Beis Medrash.

Yeshiva Shaarei Tzion will remain an autonomous institution, and will continue with its own unique identity and under its current lay and educational leadership.

In recognition of the tuition burden on our parent body, the agreement between RJJ and Yeshiva Shaarei Tzion mandates a two year moratorium on any tuition increases (2018-2019 and 2019-2020 school years). RJJ will provide financial support to Yeshiva Shaarei Tzion in the form of a substantial matching grant, and so YST will continue its active fundraising efforts to meet its share of this commitment.

Yeshiva Shaarei Tzion is also glad to announce that it is establishing an Executive Board. I will serve as Chairman of the Board, and will be joined by Mr. Moshe Feuer, Mr. Yonah Kohn, Mr. Yitzchak Lieblich and Mr. Avi Schick.

In addition to financial support, Yeshiva Shaarei Tzion will gain from its association with Dr. Schick, whose successful half-century of educational leadership is unparalleled. Dr. Schick and I have worked together for more than thirty-five years, with Dr. Schick serving as my mentor since the founding of Yeshiva Shaarei Tzion. With Hashem’s help, this new opportunity will allow us to continue to work together for the benefit of the next generation of the greater Raritan Valley community.
