Yeshiva of Waterbury Hanhala to visit their Talmidim in Eretz Yisroel

rav-ei[COMMUNICATED] More than 200 Mesivta Ateres Shmuel talmidim currently learning in yeshivos in Eretz Yisroel are looking forward to an uplifting visit with the yeshiva’s hanhala, the highlight of which will be an inspiring Shabbos in Yerushalayim.

Visiting will be Rosh HaYeshiva Rabbi Ahron Kaufman, Menahel Rabbi Doniel Kalish and Hanhalah; Rabbi Avi Oberlander, Rabbi Eli Elefant, Rabbi Tzvi Thaler, Rabbi Eli Russ. Joining them will be several American alumni and board members that will all be arriving in Eretz Yisroel on Wednesday, February 8th and will be traveling with the Rosh HaYeshiva to meet with Gedolim and to visit Mekomos Hakedoshim. In addition to a truly memorable Shabbos with the hanhala, the yeshiva will also be holding its inaugural annual alumni melava malka at the Waldorf-Astoria in Yerushalayim.

Having an opportunity to spend five days with bochurim in Eretz Yisroel is extremely important to the Yeshiva. Allowing the Rabbeim to see how their Talmidim are faring in their current Yeshivos, while also reinforcing the deep relationships forged while in the Yeshiva of Waterbury.

“Rabbi Kalish and the rabbeim developed special bonds with the boys and the yeshiva and it’s board members are committed to arranging this incredible weekend so that the rebbe-talmid bond continues in Eretz Yisroel.” said Rosh Hayeshiva, Rav Ahron Kaufman shlita. “We know that the Mesivta is only the beginning of a lifelong relationship between the yeshiva and our talmidim.”

Yeshiva Ateres Shmuel opened its doors in Waterbury, Connecticut in 2000 with Talmidim learning in a small single Bais Hamedresh. Over time the yeshiva has continued to expand into a multi-campus educational institution, with a thriving Beis Hamedrash-Kollel in Waterbury and a highly acclaimed high school located on a sprawling new 55 acre campus in Durham, Connecticut.
