VIDEO: The Yeshiva High School of Arizona held its first annual Siyum Banquet celebrating the the founding parents of the Yeshiva and the first graduating class. Over two hundred and fifty community members were part of this joyous, historic occasion.
Yeshiva High School of Arizona was the vision of Lakewood BMG alumnus Rabbi Gavriel Goetz, menahel, and Rabbi Yossie Semel, assistant menahel, four years ago and now has its first graduating class of 8. The graduates are planning to continue their Torah studies in yeshivas in Israel next year, with one graduate attending a yeshiva on the east coast.
The founding parents of this first class of students were honored at the banquet. Seeing how the young 9th graders of the Yeshiva have now become true Bnei Torah, served as an inspiration to the parents and others throughout the community.
A video presentation, highlighting the transformation of the Bachurim with their Rebbeim and teachers of Yeshiva High School of Arizona and having created a joyous environment where students flourish in Torah, was shown.
Rav Yerucham Olshin, Rosh Yeshiva of Beis Medrash Gevohah, was the keynote speaker at this historic event.
“The Greater Phoenix community’s resounding applause and strong support, showed how not only have the Yeshiva Bachurim been touched by this outstanding Makom Torah but so many people and the community as a whole have been deeply impacted by the Torah and strength of Yeshiva High School of Arizona,” said one participant. “The event was a showing of Kavad Hatorah.”
