Yeshiva Heichal Hatalmud: The Sweet Taste of Success – Join Us Tonight!

[COMMUNICATED] Many parents have grappled with the issue. A bochur wishes to remain in the structure of a yeshiva, but he doesn’t experience a feeling of fulfillment when in yeshiva all day. He may have a desire to work for a portion of the day, but be able to spend the duration of the day in and around a yeshiva, benefitting from all the maalos of a mainstream yeshiva setting.Sounds impossible, doesn’t it?

Thanks to Yeshiva Heichal Hatalmud, the impossible has been made possible.

Founded in 2016 by Rabbi Moshe Weiss and Rabbi Yechezkel Greenberger, two eminent talmidei chachomim and mechanchim, this revolutionary mosad is helping its talmidim shteig in ruchniyus while providing a daily schedule and structure designed perfectly for their kochos hanefesh.

Yeshiva Heichal Hatalmud is a home away from home for bais medrash-age boys featuring a full first seder and night seder each day, with shiurim on a gamut of subjects. The day begins with Shacharis, followed by breakfast and a spirited seder. The schedule features mussar seder, halacha seder, and all the components of a mainstream yeshiva structure.

Just as important as the limudim – and perhaps more so – is the environment of the yeshiva, which is so unique. It’s a warm and caring atmosphere, with rabbeim forging close relationships with the bochurim, who turn to them at any and all times, maintaining that kesher for years well beyond the time during which they are talmidim at Heichal Hatalmud.

Talmidim reside in the yeshiva’s dormitory, including on Shabbosos and even Yomim Tovim, as Heichal Hatalmud provides a full day-to-day, all-encompassing experience that the bochurim benefit so much from.

The part-time positions that the talmidim fill each afternoon in the workforce provide immense feelings of sippuk and fulfillment for these boys, who are actually eager each evening to return to yeshiva for an exhilarating night seder. The energy one feels upon entering the yeshiva bais medrash at night conveys all one needs to know.

“The result of this arrangement is that a bochur feels encouraged and motivated, with tangible growth seen in the ruchniyus realm,” says Rabbi Shimon Hirsch, a rebbi in the yeshiva. “It’s incredible to watch the transformation of these wonderful bochurim, who are tapping into the unique kochos that they each possess.”

The yeshiva has a member of its staff working on job placement, including with local employment agencies, to procure appropriate positions for the talmidim. A lot of time and effort are expended to determine what job is best for each bochur and what will bring out his potential.

Proof of the effectiveness of Heichal Hatalmud’s “recipe” is the fact that “alumni” of the yeshiva – those who have since moved on to the next stage of life and gotten married – return to the yeshiva to learn and maintain their connection to the rabbeim. This speaks volumes of the bond created between rebbi and talmid, between the dedicated chavrusos and the bochurim, and, in general, between Heichal Hatalmud and its beloved talmidim

“The rabbeim devote themselves b’lev vnefesh, making the bochurim part of their own families,” says Rabbi Weiss. “Our rabbeim and chavrusos are the secret behind the hatzlacha of the yeshiva.”

Indeed, even during bein hazemanim, a time when rabbeim would usually get a breather, the Heichal Hatalmud staff is fully engaged, giving a shiur every day and keeping the spiritual nourishment going.

The Heichal Hatalmud experience is rounded out by extra-curricular activities, such as weekly Thursday night shiurim, Shabbos spent in upstate New York, uplifting trips, and more.

Today, the talmidim of the yeshiva – both past and present – are the greatest testaments to the success of the Heichal Hatlmud model, which ensures that every bochur can experience the sweet taste of hatzlacha
