Worst Is Over For Lakewood – Winds And Rain To Slow – Thousands Remain Without Power

IRENE UPDATE: 8:45 AM. YOUR PHOTOS: The forecasts have now predicted that Irene has shifted and the worst for Lakewood is over. The storm has left destruction in its path with trees scattered, and extreme flooding.

South Lake Drive has the worst flooding, with at least two feet of water in some places. The road has been shut.

Thousands in Lakewood still remain without power at this time.
