Baruch Dayana Ha’emes: We regret to inform you of the passing of world famous painter, Morris Katz, who passed away a short time ago. Morris Z’L, a Shomer Shabbos, who holds a Guinness Book Of World Record for the world’s fastest painter, suffered a Stroke yesterday and went into a Coma until he passed away this morning in the Bronx.
Morris was brought to Lakewood earlier this year to open a Studio at Decorative Touch Furniture, owned by a Frum Lakewood resident.
Besides his own TV Show, Morris appeared on some major networks across the country, including on 60 Minutes, NBC Today, CBS News and many others and demonstrated his ability to paint a picture in minutes. He has taught Presidents and Actors how to paint as well.
At the Roma Pizza Guinness Record Holders Convention in New York City on May 9, 1988, he painted a 12 inch by 16 inch canvas of a child in the snow in 30 seconds plus 8 seconds to frame it.
Paintings from Morris Z’L hang in some of the finest homes and in over 100 museums throughout the world.
He was not married and has no children. He was 79. Baruch Dayan Ha’emes.
