An elderly Lakewood resident is B”H safe, thanks to working carbon monoxide detectors.
At approximately 4:00 AM Shabbos morning, neighbors heard an alarm sounding and ran over to a home where an elderly person lived alone, TLS has learned.
When there was no answer at at the door, they called Hatzolah, who in turn dispatched the Lakewood Fire Department.
With no response at the door, the fire department began forcible entry, at which time the resident came to the door.
It turns out, there were high readings of carbon monoxide in the home as a result of a stove left on.
Hatzolah checked out the patient, and the Lakewood Fire Department ventilated the home.
