What??? Again??? This is becoming a really big problem. What on earth is going on???
what is going on is lack of enforcement, The LPD trying but there are not enough of them , we need more LPD on the streets
that light needs to be longer to allow people to cross!!
It’s a crazy intersection. There should not be two lanes going into one lane before the bridge. It causes a lot of problems. It should be two lanes all the way to Toms River with turning lanes besides.
people need to use common sense when they take their lives in their hands and try to cross one of lakewood’s dangerous roads! they just assume people see them and will stop. is there even a crosswalk there or do you have to use the one on the corner of clifton?
That light is not pedestrian friendly at all…it is a long crosswalk and the amount of time to cross given is only enough if you sprint. Refuah Shleima!
SLOW DOWN LAKEWOOD!
The timing of the light matters little when drivers on the road don’t care or pay attention to pedestrians on the road. It is a law to yield to a ped. in a cross walk no matter what color the light on the street is.
get off the cell phones
Oh yeah it’s the lights fault
I crossed that intersection last week. I waited for the walk sign, but still hesitated and looked both ways down route 9 before crossing. Good thing I did, because there was a car which sped through the red light. Drivers commonly speed up there to beat the light, and to stay ahead in the merge.
We should build a bridge across RT9 at every intersection so we can cross safely… or the drivers in this town slow down and look where they are going!
I drive in lakewood 10hrs a day,it would blow your mind what i see this community do
A speedy recovery to the person injured.. If drivers and pedestrians alike pay attention there would be less accidents. Use common sense while crossing or making turns in vehicles. Just don’t assume the way is clear to cross or turn without looking first. Was the cross walk signals in the pedestrians favor or the vehicles? I see many go against the signal, crossing when it says not to. I’ve seen drivers making the turns when it says it’s OK for pedestrians to cross yet the driver ignores it and almost runs down the pedestrian, then yells at the pedestrian. We should just pay attention, slow down and for drivers… stay off the cell phone. Nothings that precious except our lives to be in a hurry.
