A woman is dead in an apparent drug overdose, officials told TLS.
The woman, said to be in her forties, was found unconscious at her home this afternoon. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lakewood’s Detective Bureau, CSI and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating.
Sad how people fall victim to drugs and it costs them their lives. However, it’s appreciated and wellcomed that you wrote in headline “Woman in Lakewood”, rather than using the modifier “Lakewood Woman”, which does conjure up an image of a veibel in a snood, not exactly a drug abuser.

Who knows if she was frum or not? Frum people in Lakewood have died from over-doses as well as goyim. Also, not all over-doses are from addiction or abuse. Sometimes it’s from interactions with other drugs or impaired memory due to either alzheimers or dementia, or standard side-effects from other drugs.In any case, it’s really just a sad thing all around. Remember – doctors are one of the leading causes of death in this country. Sorry to my medical friends out there – but medical mishaps are quite common.
