  1. Leave the police alone and let them do their jobs!!! They have every right to tow your vehicle if it’s not supposed to be there. Why don’t you worry about following the laws instead. How about that for a great plan.

  2. I was driving by non jewish institutions sunday morning where you could not get down the street and did not see any cars being towed from there

  3. I was there and before the tow truck even came the cop was standing in the road and didn’t let me go by, he made me drive all the way around the block just so HE would not be inconvenienced. But he’s just a normal Lakewood cop exercising his right to tell lowly citizens what to do.

  4. No.4…
where in Lakewood is a non jewish institution that has the streets blocked by vehicles. Let me know and I will personally photograph the area (including the street sign) and post it. If not, sit down, shut off your computer and stop trying to continue to try and split us vs. them. It’s been posted … Obey the sign or pay the fine.
The simple answer is obey the Law and there wont be problems.

  5. I don’t understand what everyone is arguing about here. It’s really simple. The DPW dida REALLY poor job in theForest Ave area. Now I couldn’t care less why that happened. Bottom line-the street is wide enough for one lane traffic on a two lane street. That should not be taken out on the Lakewood citizens that park there, whether they are Yeshiva guys,Georgian Court College students or anyone for that matter. Where should three-five thousand students park??? Obviously the township realized something needed to be done because I saw tractors clearing the spots on sixth street today. But hey-that’s a bit late fellas. It takes alot of nerve on an officers part to have fifteen cars towed. This costs the owners ALOT of money.

Oh,I almost forgot about all the offficers I’ve been seeing lately texting and talking while driving. Are they immune to the law?? And how about the MONOC ambulance driver WITH HIS LIGHTS AND SIRENS ON talking on his cell on Rt 9 yesterday?!? Now if a Hatzolah member would be caught doing that,we wouldn’t hear the end of it but I guess for PD and MONOC it’s okay. And just for the record I actually complimented the DPW after this storm because overallI think they did a great job. In the Forest Ave area they failed though. I also do not condone the use of cells….while driving, however law is for everyone including cops and their buddies.

  6. Try driving up on Clifton Ave. on any day without having to cross the yellow line (illegal) due to the trucks & cars double parked to unload. And Lakewood’s finest just stand there watching. I guess it’s OK to double park on Clifton Ave. I’ll do it next time I can’t find a parking place, like when I come into town to PAY MY TAXES.

  7. according to what i herd gcu complained that ther students cant go down 9th so the police towed the cars instead of having the dpw clear after seder when the cars are gone ps there are many streets along forest that only have room for 1 vechile at a time

  8. gcc should have the same rules as bmg where the fire marshal and polic eofficers can ticket evenon private property.

DPW failed to celan up. but its nto only in lakewood – its everywere.

they dont go and clear the shoulders or any of that which is a norm a few days after the storm.

  9. do some research: all traffic laws are part of Uniform Commercial Code.
which means Commercial owners & drivers, like taxis & buses are required to obey these laws, NOT Private People.
