With Purim In The Air, Know The Dangers Of Alcohol

VIDEOS: As Purim quickly approaches, we felt these videos would be most appropriate for parents and teens to watch. 1. i think the main fear is of overdrinking. Teens mix wne and liquor and can end up with their stomachs needing to be pumped to save ther lives. It has happened in the past.

B’H this issue is a once a year problem ( for the masses)..but it stll can be a problem.

the problem is not becoming an alcoholic, chochom!! but almost killing oneself, i know of a 14 yr old boy who drank enough that his liver got so ruined he was taken unconcious by hatzolah to the hospital and was admitted there for a few days, and till today (5yrs later) he has serious liver problems..

  3. #3 he probably had some kind of liver problem before and the drinking made it worse a person with a healthy liver cannot damage it with over drinking one time, even if its excessive where he passes out. if everyone would stick to wine there would be no danger, hard booze is the problem for people who are not used to it

  4. This problem is not only in the case of Purim but is an all-around existing problem all over. As a retired first aider from North Jersey and also in Dover Township I have seen it all. So you just cannnot blame it on a Holiday such as Purim, once a year.

  5. My brother actually ended up in the hospital from overdrinking on purim. those boys with pre-existing conditions must be careful!
You can drink but don’t over do it.

  6. What I find so odd is that really yeshivish guys who are over the top machmir about being so ultra frum, have no problem drinking themselves into a stupor, with adults giving alcohol to the kids (as shown in the clip). They actually believe this is just another mitzva that they’re being machmir on. Do people even think before they do things? (referring to the adults who should know better)
