With Clock Change, Pedestrians, Drivers Urged to Excercise More Caution

reflectorWith Winter approaching and nightfall arriving an hour earlier, both pedestrians and drivers are urged to use more caution on the roads.

There are many more children getting off buses, and pedestrian traffic sees longer hours during the Winter months.

In the past week, there have been several incidents of pedestrians being struck by a vehicle. Reflectors were reportedly lacking in at least two of the incidents. [TLS]

  1. when my husband are ready to go home after doing alot of errands, and its anywhere between 630 and 715 pm we have to find another way to drive home as driving on clifton or forest is a real danger. we live near spruce street and usually the best way is around the lake. What would happen if the men actually bought and wore reflectors? They are so cheap{ and even if they were $20.00 it is well worth it. We heard about a very kind a concernes man not long ago who donated 100s of reflectors donated mind you and very few people took them. WHY? what is the problem. Also, boys riding bikes after dark and hitching it is should be a basic part of their dress. BH we have children and alot BAH of grandchildren and I know our kis would NEVER ever let them walk or ride their bikes after dark without them. Please wake up and protect yourselves so that we as drivers can drive calmly and know that you are safe
