  1. # 3 from what i have seen hundreds of sukkahs.

    Y. R U going to help them put them back up or do u just like to be happy when other people r sad.

    EREV YOM KIPPUR everyone…………

  2. Bow, WOW!!

It wasn’t just wind and rain that knocked that succah. I should know, it’s mine. There are downed MATURE trees along our street – it would take more than “heavy wind and rain” to do that. Also, if it were heavy rain and wind that did the damage, you’d probably see it all over town. This street got a bashing.

Anyway, GAM ZU L’TOVA!!! B”H no injuries.

    G’mar Tov to all.

  3. being someone who gre up from the midwest the symptoms we had in lakewood today can be called a tornado or when they dont actuallly hit the ground called a funnel cloud.

anyon ein the midwest knows when you see heavey wonds come rushing in and the temperture drops dramatically and you see dust and debris starting to swirl on the ground – get into your house preferably a basement and or(if not) head for an inner room of the house and usualy the best place is the bathtub as its a solid piece.

tonight i would say was tornado weather. people always thinks i am being overly cautious. Weel the tree cracked about 20 ft up inthe air and hit our deck steps blocking the door to our sukkah.

if the tornado did not hit directly here it was for sure in the area a funnel cloud. HVY WINDS WITH DRAMATIC DROP IN TEMP USUALY = TORNADO/ FUNNEL CLOUDS

  4. The south side of the lake looks like it is in a different country than the north side! I’ve heard from many south side residents that it was really scary. B”H none of those large trees strewn all over the place came down on human beings. Some of those downed trees are humongous. May this be the storm before the calm and may everyone have year of Menuchas Hanefesh! G’mar Chasima Tova!

  5. wow, im shocked that only one spot in this town got hit so hard….isnt that strange??? i seriously would have never believed that happened just a few minutes from where i live if not for seeing it here on the scoop!

  6. Just remember that in order to have downed trees, you need….TREES! And there aren’t too many neighborhoods with trees anymore! So as strong as the wind will blow in one of the new neighborhoods, the trees have been chopped down long ago to do the construction. You might just have some garbage cans blowing around.

  7. i am #16….just to let u know, i do live in an area with many trees, i am not in a development, and as a matter of fact, my garbage cans r still at the street from this mornings garbage pickup and r still in the exact same spot! go figure!

  8. The area by the lake received more damage because it is an open area due to the lake, where wind can blow through more easily…everyone is an expert I guess though

  9. What we had yesterday was not a tornado but quite possibly a Microburst which is related in strength to a tornado by wind speed. It is just as destructive but you dont have the spinning funnel cloud. There was never a touch down in Lakewood yesterday..but remember we can get these anytime..we are not immune to this stuff just lucky..it could have been much MUCH worse.
