UPDATED: Winter Storm Warning: 6-8 Inches of Snow Possible

storm 2010 tlsIt’s not over till it’s over. Winter is still going strong, and the area could be in for another big one. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the area which will remain in effect from Sunday evening until Monday evening.

A mix of rain, sleet and snow should develop on Sunday afternoon with some freezing rain possible in the evening. The mixed precipitation should change to all snow on sunday night. The snow will become moderate to heavy at times and it is expected to continue on into Monday morning before ending on Monday afternoon.

Snow accumulations generally up to 6 to 10 inches.

Temperatures will dr0p into the lower and middle 20s for late Sunday night into Monday, and Monday night temperatures could be between 5-12 degrees.

UPDATE: The NWS on Sunday morning has downgraded the storm prediction to accumulations of 6-8 inches. The Warning remains in effect from 6 PM Sunday until 1 PM in Monday.

I’m driving from Chicago to lakewood right now and I’m bringing the storm with me but I noticed that in Chicago EVERYBODY shovels the sidewalk, in Lakewood There is almost no block that you can walk straight without passing a unshoveled walk which is very dangerous. So then ppl walk in the street which creates more danget

  3. Any thoughts about what schools will do? Other districts are probably watching the weather very closely and starting to discuss plans! Oh, forgot this is Lakewood, don’t do anything

  4. #14 go back to Chicago, if the people there are better than here, we have a housing shortage as it is. We need people that see the good in Lakewood people, not their faults.

  10. All ready have been told by my children’s district that they care about the CHILDREN and have already called for a 90 minute delay. Why doesn’t Lakewood care about safety first ????
