Reserve the date – you don’t want to miss this one.
On February 25, the first-ever basketball game between our men in blue and the LBA will be held in Lakewood.
The game is much more than just a basketball game – it’s a way for the Lakewood community to come out and show their support for the work of the Lakewood Police Department.
Now more than ever, given the recent attacks in and around New Jersey, our appreciation for the the men and women in blue will go a long way, showing them we care and appreciate their daily sacrifice.
The game, produced by the Lakewood Police Foundation and taking place at the Lakewood High School gym, will kick off with the National Anthem by Uri Davidi, feature a half-time show sponsored by LTC, trophy awards and more.
Also during the event, several officers from the Department will be honored, along with the Municipal Prosecutor Ian Goldman.
The game will be attended by Lakewood Police Chief Greg Meyer and officers from the LPD, the Mayor and Township Committee, as well as other local officials.
Space at the event is limited, and seats will be given out on a first-come-first-serve basis. 300 game souvenir T-shirts will also be given out on a firs-come-first serve basis.
The game was sponsored by Gourmet Glatt; Team Sponsors are Kava and Levona; Corporate sponsors are: Greenwald Caterers, Vine Yard, Friends of Ben Inzelbuch, Congregation Lutzk, Brookville Auto Group, Viggy Blech of World Class Collision, Eastern Union, Moshe Weinstock, LBS (Lakewood Building Supply), South Side Sandwich Shop & Smokehouse, and the BP Print Group; Media Sponsor: (TLS) The Lakewood Scoop.

Can we purchase tickets? Or are seats going to be given out at the eventm
I would estimate there would be 1-3 thousand people wanting to attend. Doing it in a space that can fit 300 w/o even allowing people to know ahead of time if they will get in sounds like the trump rally.
Why not do a suggested donation of $10 a ticket, and do it in a larger sports center.
I would love to go with my 2 sons as we would love to cheer on our law enforcement but I would hate to keep them up late, get them excited, travel out, wait on line, to be told no more tickets left. . .
Maybe take a poll how many would attend and pick a location based on that?
