What could your future property taxes look like in the next five years? Four possible tax scenarios were added to help you understand what you might have to pay. The scenarios: A flat 2 percent a year hike, which Gov. Chris Christie is pushing for; a 3.2 percent boost based on the average increase from 2008 to 2009; a 5.6 percent increase seen from 2007 to 2008; and an 8.5 percent hike, the highest boost this decade that happened in 2004 under Gov. Jim McGreevey.
To begin, in the APP calculator, select your town, a percentage rate and your most recent property assessment. If your town had a reassessment this year, please use your 2009 assessment.
Who really owns the house your living in? When a “homeowner” must by law pay rent (property tax) to the state or have their house taken away from them by the landlord (the state) it sure feels like there’s really no such thing as private home ownership in this country.
there is no such thing as private home owner ship in any country than accordin to this.
Stop overtaxing & overspending! It does not pay to own a home if we have to support the illegals in public school, the salaries & benefits of so many township employees (which can be raised at their own discretion), etc. The government will price homeowners out of town & end up without funding. This is called the LAW OF DIMINISHING RETURNS. Go study some economics.
proof of who really owns your home is with Eminent Domain , they can take your home when ever they want to ,just look at what has taken place here in various towns in NJ and also Conn. All they have to do is say the neighborhood is in decline and then turn it over to some builder who will get rich on what was stolen from you
Sad that this can actually happen and has happened here in th USA
Even if you pay your taxes it can still be stolen from you
There is much abuse of this law that was never intended to be used in this manner. Time to repeal all Eminant Domain statues and prevent this “legal” thievery
