  1. B”H dont have that issue with the boys as they have school. as far the girls, baking, pesach cleaning, arts and crafts, high school play for the older ones, play dough for the younger ones, a trip to wal mart to find a new toy or game that we can all play, maybe one supper eat out……..

  2. all great ideas number 6 encapsulates all… Sometimes I take a trip one day to the dollar store and together we pick out different craft materials and then the next day do projects together. There’s a Morah Music concert on Sunday which will probably be great, but I’m thinking instead of buying a couple of her CD’s and having hours of MOrah Music fun at home – much more economical

  3. No vacation for my boys ?

i think they and the rebbeim could have used a friday and sunday off like other chadarim in Lakewood. Why are yehsivos trying to produce metzuyanim at such young ages. We are not asking for an entire week off. But a partial weekend like the BIG yeshivos get should be considered at minimum.

  4. Put away the schach still left out rinse out the chanuka glasses polish and put away the menorah. Brainstorm for a cute Shalach manos theme and of course… pesach cleaning.Sory no more baking freezer is cleaned for pesach 🙂

  5. I find it a big cxhallange. I have 6 girls and 1 boy. My boy gets very jealous if I do anything with the girls when they are off. So I made well check up appts and eye dr appts My son is very happy to not be included in this

  6. i certainly dont understand why a primary girl.a kindergatren girl and until 8th grade needs midwinter vacation? just to drei oruup a mothers kup. mykids get bh quality time after school everyday. sundays and shobbas. whats the whole point? this must come to an end. u think i can entertain my kids the entire day for three days? they need a schedule otherwise they just go bananas. any explaination? besidesthe girls got off a week from Sandy. off on Chanuka.

  7. Once you have off; make the most of it! Don’t Pesach clean or do errands. You can do something special and not expensive. Get together with family and friends. These are memories you can create for your family, why waste it?!

  8. What is wrong with doing something out of the house that is actually fun and has no connection to shopping?????…..and why are you forcing your kids to pesach clean on their vacation, especially TWO MONTHS before pesach?

  9. i think that everyone deserves a short break. girls, boys, teachers and rebbeim. i only wish that all my kids had the same days. one son has only 1/2 day Thursday and no Friday. while other son has off Thursday-Monday. one girl has off Friday-Tuesday the other one has off Monday and Tuesday. for parents who work its hard to have to work out plans for so many days. if everyone had off Friday thru Monday it would be much easier for all.

  10. Best to have family time
Relax and Chill with your kids like asking each kid what 1 thing they love the best to do at home and go with there opinion = )

    Just Enjoy

  11. I’ve read all the coments no one is sharing any ideas how about blue mtn ski center -was there 2 wks ago -they have skking & tubing. Gr8 place for entire fam ! if u go to the last stop -u have the tubing together with skiing in one place -sunday is discounted don’t ask me why !

  12. Everyone stop complaining the whole day about everything!! Teachers and kuds need midwinter! Let them njy once in a while!!
Skiing, snow tubing, iplay america, make it glass, build a bear, manhattan, childrens museum,
There is so much to do!
    Be nice to your kids!!

  13. do a fun arts and craft project together. snowball fight. dare to eat ice cream together. snow shoveling if enough snow outside. make snow angels. or go shopping and make a fun recipe together.

  14. To # 3. I already started after chanukah claening for pesach. Its easier to satart early little by little and make sure no one goes there than to rush before pesach and come to the seder tired and out of it. Believe me I have been doing it for years.

  15. You can go to the mall & have a scavenger hunt or if u don’t drive out of Lakewood then u can do it in Walmart or amazing savings…
I took my kids Chanukah to the mall&
Gave them each $20(u can give less $ if u can’t afford that)they had to devide up the $
They each went with another sibling or siblings& went from store to store&after an hr.or more we all met
& gave out the prize bags to our siblings . We had a blast! It’s amazing how much they were able to get for $20

  16. Here’s some real ideas.
    Make it glass
Glow in the dark minigolf Marlboro
    Barnes And Nobles
    Bowling
    Chuck e cheese
    Oros Bais yaakov play
    Snow tubing camp Haw
Ride the train in seacaucus to nyc
    Fao shwartz nyc
    Bushkill falls resort PA
    Funtime Usa Cherry hill

  17. Everyone can clean& organize there rooms.blast the music to 107.9 when they finish there room,u can take them each to buy one pesach outfit!my daughter is busy cleaning her room now& can’t wait to go get her pesach outfit.

  18. Make ur own concert.
My daughter is playing guitar now,my other daughter is on the Casio & my son is on the drums.
My girls are practicing& then will go to Bubby & zaidy & give them
    nachas!

  19. Try going to IKEA in Elizabeth. There is a Balls play area for children (not in diapers) and kids may like the entire store – lots of innovative stuff reasonably priced as well. Take a lunch and eat it upstairs in their cafeteria eating area next to the huge windows where the kids can view landing/take-off planes from Newark Airport

  20. i was asked where I am going for midwinter. sunday, grandparents, monday, ice skating, tuesday snow tubing, wednesday to the loony bin…
I am sure I will see many of you there too…

  21. Homdell park has a great FREE snowtubing hill with a fireplace.
Amazing Savings and Walmart have tons of snowtubes and Alex’s for pennies on the dollar.
Get a hot water Thermos, some packets of hot cocoa, a bag of Golden fluff marshmallows and you are good to go

  22. Monster mini golf on Route 9 in Manalapan is great indoor trip for the kids, glo in the dark.. There is a great special on “Groupon”, 4 people for $16 or 8 for $30. (Just a small reminder, if I may, for Kiddush Hashem purposes don’t let the kids run wild.) All around good place nearby.

  23. S.I. Ferry (parking free on Sundays, ferry free), then subway (which is a whole trip in itself for kids – and kids under 12 are free) to FAO Schwartz – which is free, right next to the Apple store w/ glass elevator, horse & buggies, Disney & Warner Bros. stores, Sony Wonder, and Rockefeller Center with their surrounding street artists ($5 a caricature/portrait!). We used to just walk up and down these streets, lot of fun for free.

  24. #48 – I like your idea (not too far…) But do you have to make sure that there’s snow? Also, what’s Alex’s?

#50 – Do you have name, number, address for this place?

#53 – Do you have number to find out ferry schedule?

  25. Thanx so much for the monster
Mini golf idea …..just got back and we had a really great time especially since it was empty….and the staff were really friendly and accommodating to the little kids regarding prizes- I would definitely recommend this place….my kids were talking about going back again before we’d even left the place! 😉
