[UPDATES BELOW] Wet snow began to fall in Lakewood about 8:15 p.m., and is expected intensify and continue throughout the night into tomorrow morning. Total accumulation is expected to be between 6-8 inches. As in past storms, this post will be updated throughout the storm with all important updates and messaged.
Many short and important messages will be put out through our News Alerts as well.
12:05 a.m. TLS has just been informed that Public Schools will be closed Wednesday and there will not be any busing.
7:45 a.m. The snow has tapered off with total accumulation of about 6-8 inches. Many streets have already been cleared, plows are out full force.
10:00 a.m.TLS spoke with Mayor Menashe Miller this morning about the snow cleanup efforts and he had one thing to say. “Let the results speak for themselves”.
1:45 p.m. As of this time, most streets in Lakewood have been plowed at least once. If your street has not yet been plowed, contact the DPW at 732-905-3405.
you cant compare a few inches to the around 30 inches we got last snow storm. DPW did what they are supposed to do. and last storm was a BLIZZARD. they happen in NJ and in the winter time. Build a bridge and get over it.
Of course you CAN compare this snow storm to the last one. Even though you may not be able to compare snow flake to snow flake. During the last storm under different leadership it took more than 77 hours for my block to see even one snow plow. Under the leadership of our current Mayor every street has been plowed at least once, less than 6 hours after the snow stopped!!! Way to go Mr. Miller!!!
Maybe when you guys start paying your fear share in taxes you will get plowed earlier
New central near westgate is plowed only on one side they plowed the shoulder but not the roadway it is dangerous .Mayor Miller please send a truck to clear the other half of the roadway on new central beetween gudz and hillside.
Thank you
Thank you DPW for doing a great job. You came down my block eight times, back and forth, and made my block beautiful (and you gave my kids a great time)
Thank you so so much!!!!
Ashley Avenue between Wynatt and Lincoln was not touched since the storm started . Is it too much to ask DPW to come down this block and deal with what is now a dangerous ice situation.
