VIDEO: [UPDATED 4:05 PM] The Wells Fargo bank on Route 9, has just been robbed, officials say. Police say, a man, described as a 35-40 year old black male, wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans and hat, walked into the bank claiming he had a weapon and demanded cash. The man then fled the bank with an unspecified amount of cash.
The Ocean County Sheriffs and K9 are assisting with the search for the suspect.
The bank is located at the Stop & Shop Plaza on Route 9.

why aren’t banks doing things to protect this, like installing bullet proof glass or other safety features?

If I pass a note to my bank teller saying “1 large coffee, cream and sugar, please,” is the teller suddenly going to jump up and run to get me a coffee?
So why do they just hand over the money when they get a note? Tell the guy to actually brandish the weapon, then he’ll get the money.
If shop rite which is a supermarket could have a armed police officer or an armed guard, than a bank ,were the money is,should also have an armed guard or 2 !

To num. 9 what if he realy has a gun he might just shoot you dont take chances.
In a study published in the ny times it states that 95 percent of these bank robbers don’t actually have weapons on them !next time the tellers should just say no!

#9 Your kidding me right?!? I’m a teller at a bank and if you think that if someone hands me a note that says “I have a gun give me your money” that im going to ask him to prove it??!! If someone stopped you in the street and said they had a gun and that the wanted your wallet your going to need to see it before you hand over your money?? That might be the most idiot thing I’ve read on here yet!!….. Thats how people get hurt. No ones trying to be hero. The money isnt even ours, it’s insured… My LIFE isnt worth how ever much money they wind up getting away with…. I’d hand over my personal money if the wanted it. Personally I’d rather not know if they have a gun or not. It’s a scary enough thought without the gun being put in my face! You don’t know how desperate the person trying to rob you might be. Why aggravate the situation?!?

I guess I would have to agree with you. You’ve been there, I haven’t.
But it just seems lately that so many bank robberies have been taking place, that any old “Joe Shmoe” figures he’ll give it a shot with a note. Sometimes i feel that if we shake the guy up a bit, he’ll fold like a cheap camera.
