SIGHTSEEING

Denver, the capital of Colorado, is the ideal starting point for a round trip through the wild west of the USA. Not far away is Estes Park, the gateway to the Rocky Mountains National Park. Fantastic nature experiences await practically everywhere, with Colorado Springs and the popular Pikes Peak only around an hour and a half south of Denver. Enjoy the charm of the Wild West, e.g. in Durango, where you should definitely take a ride on the historic railroad, and finally relax in the hot springs – ideal after sightseeing or a hike. There is so much to discover – let’s go!

HOT SPRINGS

One of the lesser-known highlights of Colorado is the surprisingly high number of hot springs and thermal baths that can be found in the Rocky Mountains.

It is therefore worth keeping an eye out for these hot springs from time to time on a round trip through Colorado, so that you can relax and unwind a little during your road trip.

Recently, there has even been a special round trip route through Colorado dedicated entirely to hot springs: the so-called “Colorado Historic Hot Springs Loop” is a suggested route that connects some of the most beautiful hot springs resorts and takes you through some of Colorado’s most impressive regions and charming towns.

This Colorado loop covers 720 miles (1,160 km) and guarantees an itinerary along excellent thermal spas and along the best hot springs in the state. You’ll find a variety of spa experiences at any time of the year. From exquisite, private baths to the largest thermal baths in the world! All spas guarantee first-class facilities such as steaming caves, hot pots, terraced pools with a view and huge travertine formations with exciting bathing landscapes.

On this round trip, the Rocky Mountains present themselves from their most beautiful side. A large part of the route runs along four of the varied Colorado Scenic Byways and crosses numerous National Forests. It is worth exploring each of the five spa towns on a hike, by bike or on an ATV. Look forward to breathtaking nature with babbling brooks full of fish and raging rivers for whitewater enthusiasts. In the winter months, skiers, snowmobilers and ice climbing fans get their money’s worth.

ESTES PARK

The scenery is the reason you came to Colorado. This place is the reason you stay here longer.

Located right at the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, majestic peaks surround this enchanting mountain town on three sides and dominate the skyline. And they’re calling to you! Climbing, hiking, horseback riding, camping – find a wild, secluded spot and a moment to yourself. Or simply sit back and enjoy the fresh high mountain air. There’s something for every adventurer. From families in search of relaxation, to mountain athletes, to couples looking for a stronger bond.

The quaint little town of Estes Park nestles right next to a river, among pines and aspens. And has some of the best accommodations and campgrounds in the Rockies. The streets are lined with charming, owner-operated stores that you won’t find anywhere else. From local craft breweries, distilleries and wineries to wellness facilities, galleries and museums to cosy bars and cafes.

Pass the time here with live music, art exhibitions, festivals, seminars or climbing in a high ropes course. And did we mention the food? Order the best steak of your life, try some delicious local venison, or relax with delicious burritos, a local craft beer or some pasta and a glass of wine. The restaurants in Estes Park range from fine dining to traditional specialties to take away snacks for a picnic in the great outdoors.
