   Can I just suggest before starting doing teshuva and blaming our averois for all these accidents can we just slow down when we drive and pay attention and drive with other people in mind !!!

5. Not only was the turn illegal, but was the driver even looking where her or she was going?
   The timing of the turn didn’t allow safe merge into southbound traffic.
   Was it worth almost killing someone, in order to save few minutes?

6. I make left turns onto Rte.9 every day but, I’m very careful. If you’re behind me waiting to turn, don’t bother honking (or trying to go around me, that’s very dangerous) I won’t turn until I’m absolutely sure it’s safe to do so, so be patient.

   • You should get a ticket every day for making a left turn on Route 9 every day even if you are very careful. Rules are in place for safety.

7. People should yield to others trying to make a left turn.
   Chessed and tzedaka are also performed by letting someone else go ahead of you.

8. It’s not about right or wrong, it’s a huge zechus to sometimes just take a deep breath and yield to someone else even if they are completely incorrect!

12. To SRK. Yes. Only when conditions are absolutely safe to do so. There are some drivers that should not be executing left handed turns if they can’t clear the intersection in time.

To all those screaming about the ILLEGAL LEFT TURN can someone explain why some blocks along route 9 have a no left turn and others don’t. better yet some blocks have at certain times of the day on specific days is it only safe on weekends or the next block over? Answer – its not for safety – its for traffic flow reasons. if there was a line of cars waiting to go behind the vehicle you have a complaint but the fact that an accident occurred is completely irrelevant to the no left turn sign,

    • @Askan4trouble the real reason why there are some and some is because in some places and at certain times it was deemed safe to make the left turn. Sometimes because of traffic flow and sometimes because of topography. But it always is because of safety.

14. To My Take. You’re absolutely correct when u say you’ll execute your left handed turn when it’s prudent to do so. Don’t you DARE TELL CARS accumulating behind you that they can’t go around you while you’re waiting to turn.

    • Only a “Brooklyn observer” can make such an arrogant, anarchist statement. “Don’t you dare tell me not to execute a daring and reckless pass around you when it is completely illegal if I need to save a few more seconds!” We all know the joke about “Can’t you see I’m double parked!” but this is a whole new level. Passing someone who’s making a left on their left or passing on their right to make a left is sakanas nifashos and against the law.

15. To square: it would be dangerous for u to pass a car on the right making a left hand turn because YOU DON’T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE. PERIOD. You sound like the chief accident causer.

16. Also to square that can’t read. I didn’t say me. Kindly show me the law that says you can’t pass a car on the right making a left hand turn in the State of New Jersey. Read a comment thoroughly before you comment you square.
