If you have to leave stuff like that around… we can put a cellular tracker in there for about $1 a day. Worth it for any item of significant expense (and it can track other stuff too… like temperature, light (to show if something was opened), excessive shaking and other variable.
Good point. I like the iTraq Butterfly. It’s small, inexpensive with no installation cost, and has a battery life of up to 10 years.
The owner of these tool was probably not insured for this type of theft.
And this Ganiff – very smart: No front plate; very dumb: Didnt plug in the wire from the trailer to his truck so no lights on on the trailer. Could get pulled over.
MAybe he was already caught !!
PD should look within the area around the theft (Kent and County) because the trailer was just attached to the truck by the safety chains only. Look when he stops and then again as he accelerates, the truck/trailer are not connected via a ball and slide mount so he couldn’t have been going very far. It’s very hard to control a trailer at speed like that, besides hoping you don’t hit a pothole which might catch the tongue of the trailer.
