PHOTOS: This morning, the Walmart store in Brick presented Tomchei Shabbos with a check of $25,000 to celebrate Family Food Relief through Walmart’s State Giving Council for Hunger Relief Efforts. Flanked by store employees, store manager Mike Zanetti presented Tomchei Shabbos directors with the donation, saying “We’re glad to be able to give back to the community”.
Tomchei Shabbos was extremely appreciative of the generous donation.
“We’d like to thank the Walmart foundation for their generous donation”, Tomchei Shabbos Family Food Relief said after being presented with the check. “The assistance you’ve provided Family Food Relief enables us to provide food packages for those in need”.
“We extend our sincere gratitude to our partners at the Wal-Mart Foundation,” said Rabbi Joseph Schreiber, Executive Director of Family Food Relief. “Thanks to their generous support, we were able to serve the more than 3,000 people who turned to us for help this year.”
Every week, millions of customers visit Walmart stores, Neighborhood Markets, and Sam’s Club locations across America or log on to its online store at walmart.com.
“The company and its Foundation are committed to a philosophy of giving back locally”, Walmart said in a statement. “Walmart (NYSE: WMT) is proud to support the causes that are important to customers and associates right in their own neighborhoods, and last year gave more than $378 million to local communities in the United States”.
