Wallet Thief Identified Hours after Info Is Released to the Media

wallet thiefWithin hours after a wallet thief’s surveillance picture was released to the media, Lakewood Police knew who they were looking for, Detective Greg Staffordsmith says.

On April 4th an unidentified man stole an employee’s purse from a back office located at the WaWa on Rt 70.

Photos of the suspect were obtained and released to the media and social media outlets in hope, that someone from the public could identify him.

“Within hours, Det. LeRoy Marshall was advised that the suspect was, 22 year old Edward Parker of Lakewood,” says Staffordsmith.

As a result, Parker was arrested and charged with the theft earlier this afternoon. Bail was set in the amount of $20,000 without a 10% option by Judge Basen.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for their assistance in helping to solve this case.” [TLS]
