Volunteer Firefighters and EMTs Will Receive College Tuition Credit with New Township Resolution

If you’re a volunteer firefighter or EMT, and will be attending college, you can soon be receiving state aid under a new resolution by the Lakewood Township.

Under the resolution, volunteers applying to certain colleges will receive $600 per year toward tuition costs.

According to the rules of the program, the volunteer would have to be committed to the organization for at least four years.

Not all colleges are included in the program.

The Lakewood Township is expected to vote on the resolution at the next Committee meeting.
