Lakewood Police this evening arrested two people at gunpoint after a driver believed to have been shot at.
The victim tells TLS he was driving on Central Avenue this evening when he heard something shatter on his window, believing he was shot at.
The victim says he phoned police while following the vehicle.
Police caught up with the suspect vehicle on new Egypt Road and took two people into custody at gunpoint.
It turned out the suspect apparently threw a lollipop at the other driver’s window.

When asked what can be done to prevent lollipop carriers from firing lollipops at car windows, a police official told reporters on Wednesday: “Until new laws are passed that would require lollipop owners to pass vigorous criminal background checks before purchasing a lollipop, and require them to carry lollipop permits with them at all times, and to undergo several weeks of intense training at a reputable and ethical lollipop firing range, there’s not much we can do to protect drivers from these crazed, lollipop-toting miscreants.”
“Make sure your car windows are made of extra strong lollipop-proof glass,” he advised, “and try not to get distracted by the lollipop projectiles while driving, and don’t leave your car windows open, unless you enjoy having lollipop goo all over your face.”
“A driver should never have to feel like he’s getting an aliya by his aufruf, waiting for the candy barrage to begin,” he lamented.
Genius. Always can’t wait for your comments. At least crime is down a bit since the enforcement effort. That is except for Lollipops and Nerf guns. Seriously, the LPD is doing a great job. Keep those comment s coming!
The lollipop official added, “it is for this reason that we recommend masks be worn when leaving your windows open, even if the passengers are vaccinated. Tests are not in yet to prove whether the vaccine can protect against such an intrusion on your body’s defenses.”
He thought he was shot at and continued following the vehicle?!?!?!?!
Which lollipop is strong enough to shatter a car window?
Says lollipop was shattered, not window.
rear it again it says “something shatter ON his window”
I wish people would stop being dramatic and wasting our cops’ precious time.
