  1. I am not sure who’s idea it is to change Selichos into a concert. Horrible idea that ruins the start of Yamim Noraim. Zeman Simchaseinu is only after the Yamim Noraim.

    • The principal (with the permission of my Ruv) of the Cheder my sons attend sent me there undercover to write down the names of anyone who attended from the Cheder so their sons can be immediately expelled. I mamish felt like a KGB agent.
It turns out the 12 people I noticed & recorded had also been sent by the principal for the same reason.
It’s quite ironic that the attempt to weed out those that don’t understand the inappropriateness of musical slichos caused 13 Heimisha Yidden to attend them (& when we spoke after we all said how much we enjoyed it & how meaningful it was & benched each other that next year the principal will once again ask us to attend these slichos).

  2. previous generations used to cry by selichos this is because of how lofty is the chesed of forgiveness anyone who needs to be forgiven can get it if he brings himself close to Hashem and He specifically taught Moshe Rabbenu how to say the 13 middos and that is how we do it from then until today

    • Moshe definitely said the 13 Middos with an American-Chasidish accent while wearing a fur hat in the middle east.
If you really believe Davening cannot be changed from our “Mesora” or the “Feel” (of course halacha is different) I know quite a few Chasidim that would disagree.
If a Misnaged went to Daven in a Shteibel & saw the Nusach, clapping, dancing, twirling & shouting he’d say the same as you (& likely have a heart attack).
But like the Chasidim overtime became mainstream so will Musical Slichos (which it kinda already has) be an accepted part of Frum Judaism.
