VIDEO: Yosef Mutterperl’s South Side Sandwich Shop Closes Tonight

jmVIDEO: Standing outside the South Side Sandwich Shop this afternoon, Yosef Mutterperl, the proprietor of the shop, thanked the community for their support just hours before the closing of his famous eatery.

The South Side Sandwich Shop, located at 100 River Avenue, was established approximately 4 1/2 years ago, and was known for the famous smoked ribs, his ‘crazy sandwiches’ and much more.

The shop was evicted due to a new business being launched at the site by the property-owners.

The store was also home to the famous S.S.S.S. Shiur, given each Thursday evening by Reb Yisroel Meir Shapiro. The last Shiur at the store will be taking place tonight at 10 PM. The Shiur will continue at another location.

Though the store will be closing at midnight tonight – or when the food runs out – Mutterperl hopes he will find a new home for his shop very soon. [TLS]

  5. He’s a good man. I called the shop once or twice over the past few years and he greets you like a friend and a choshuv person – even if he doesnt know who you are.
I just remember stopping to think, hey, thats nice that you asked how I am and how my day is and werent curt and rough on the phone ready to take an order. It gave me something to think about…..
May Hashem help him find the best place for all of Lakewood to enjoy. I actually like the truck idea above that Foodie mentioned. There are some abandone lots down route 9… why not set up shop round there??
