Of course the guy in the black car in front is at fault. He wasn’t quick enough for the guy behind him!
The van that was going straight because if look carefully the light already turned red and it should of stopped
True my freind, but the red was for the guy turning as well!
the chutzpah of drivers here.
what was the red/maroon van thinking, turning before the guy in front of him.
He thought that guy was going too slowly, so he just decided to go first?
As long as the light (which we can’t see in this video)
had the right of way to the people going straight down New Hampshire, the genious in the red van should have his license taken away.
Too many smart alecs doing what they want on the road !
you CAN see the light, calm down about the chutzpa of drivers “here”.
driver turning always must yield to driver going straight! Unless driver ran a light.
The light was already red when the black car ran through it. That means he should have slowed down when the light turned yellow and not have gone trough the light and hit the person turning. If you are making a left turn and are already in the intersection when the light turns red, you should have enough time to make a left turn before oncoming traffic because the light changes to yellow first to allow cars to slow down and stop.
Lakewood mom
u can see the light turning red before the black van entered the intersection the red van is 100 percent right look closely the black van should of stopped before the intersection but I guess he was in a rush so he ran the light
Quick question for the oilam. I noticed that quite often, tls shows accidents @ this intersection. Does that make this a dangerous intersection or is this where they forward the surveillance videos from?
little bit of both
its a more dangerous intersection because speed limit is 45 or 50, and there is a good camera.
It’s the fault of those who don’t offer to drive those that shouldn’t be driving. A picture or video is worth a thousand words.
the red car!!! what was it thinking to turn before the car in front of him!!!! this happens all the time!!! they don’t have patience!!!! serves the red car right! good! feel bad for black van though.
*ATT: MR MAYOR: I THINK WE SHOULD HAVE ONLY TURN ON GREEN ARROWS. ACCIDENTS HERE DAILY. OH RIGHT THIS IS A COUNTY ROAD….EXCUSE
Look again… Amusing that you’re so sure of your judgment and willing to blame the red van. Look again and see the light turn RED before the black van entered the intersection. The red van assumed the black van would STOP
Red van was 2nd in line to turn and cut off the guy in front of him. The other can went straight through the red. they’re both reckless
Waiting in the left lane to turn doesn’t give you the right to run the light either – especially from behind the stop line and more so if there’s another car in front of you making a left turn
So they both ran the red light and both are technically at fault
Maybe it’s two wrongs for the red SUV to one for the van
Let the judge sort it all out.
the red van was in the box already not the black one
but i will be interested to know what the police/law verdict
Everybody is right. No 1 is wrong. That’s just the way it is.
The red car is definitely liable for the accident but if the cops showed up they prob both got tickets the black car for blowing the red light and the red car for careless driving
Vehicle going straight always has the right of way, regardless of the light. But running the light deserves a summons too. Vehicle turning was in the wrong for failure to yield to vehicle going straight. Two summons for him, failure to yield and running the red light too.
If you are turning left, you are not allowed to enter the intersection if you cannot clear it safely, even if the light is green. Here you see at least three drivers who broke that law.
So if you ask me whose fault it is, it’s the POLICE DEPARTMENT’S FAULT for not enforcing the law.
I promise you that the drivers of the vehicles that collided would much rather have had a summons than the collision.
Both. The BLACK car ran the RED light.
The RED van recklessly jumped to turn before the BLACK car patiently and defensively waited to turn safely in front of him.
As far as I understand, you are mistaken. When the light turns green, cars in the left lane who want to tuyrn left are supposed to enter the intersection, keep their wheels straight ahead, and then turn left when it is clear.
