For all the 2A people out there: Check it out, Lakewood-based WeShoot today rolled out a new gun safe which can be used on Shabbos.
The safe does not use any electrical components or batteries, but rather works by compressing buttons. See the video below.

Maybe ask you LOR before using it on Shabbos if you buy it.
What exactly is the shailoh?
For some reason when I read it I thought it said about a new gun that you can use on Shabbos. I now see it’s talking about a gun safe that you can use on Shabbos. So no shailoh.
Do you also ask your LOR if you’re allowed to open your bedroom closet on Shabbos? Smh some people love complaining about and making an issue out of everything.
No complaining here. Look above.
Wow, so a non electronic combination lock, this is the greatest invention since sliced bread.
If G-D forbid the gun owner is in a life threatening situation- the gun case wouldn’t be an issue. If the owner is safe then the case is prohibited to move due to it being a Bosis to the gun which is Muktza for two reasons:
1) Keli shellachto laissur
2) Machmas Cheseron Kis
Still and thoughtful and innovative product.
What about people who are carrying on Friday night and want to put it in a safe when going to sleep. If your life isn’t in danger then, I doubt there’s any heter to open and close an electric safe.
Who was matir them to carry a gun on Shabbos?
Probably a Rabbi who knows the halachos unlike the ignorant you.
My question is how safe is it really? Can a child ch”v get in more easily than a standard safe?
Also, can it be purchased online?
The brand is stopboxusa
I’m probably out of touch with a lot of this crazy world but is Lakewood that unsafe that there are enough Jewish men carrying guns that a special safe is needed? It’s so sad to think that a city based on faith should have the need.
im sure like in every other town in the state of NJ there are plenty of gun owners and yes as safe as a town might generally be we still need to be vigilant especially a town like Lakewood.
Someone skipped history class at Yeshiva. Just look at the last 3,000 years, and then you’ll know why we need to be able to defend ourselves. Also, its a safe designed for gun owners, because power or battery is considered a point fo failure, it was NOT designed for us, but its good that for those who choose NOT to be a victim, they now have an option to keep their guns secured and away from children and unauthorized users, and aligned with our Shabbos restrictions.
Lakewood Electronics Store Rolls Out Its Newest Product: The Shabbos-Cholent Safe!
A Lakewood electronics store announced on Thursday the rollout of its newest retail product, a specially-designed safe for cholent that can be used on Shabbos to safeguard the cholent from Friday night cholent fressers and to protect the digestive systems of overly zealous cholent consumers from the effects of acid indigestion and heartburn.
“Too often, Lakewood housewives will wake up Shabbos mornings only to discover that their cholent pots are half empty, and that they may have to ration their cholent during the Shabbos afternoon meals,” said Avi Kookstein, who owns a popular electronics store in Lakewood.
“The cholent safes we are selling have special combination locks,” Mr. Kookstein said, “and only the aforementioned housewives will know the numbers to the combination, thereby assuring that there’ll be an abundance of cholent for the entire family and for all the invited guests during the Shabbos day meals. Moreover, family members’ stomachs will be protected from the negative effects of 24/7 cholent consumption.”
However, longtime Lakewood resident, Shlomie Kishkowitz, told reporters on Thursday that he is working with local askanim to get the cholent safes banned from all Lakewood retail outlets.
“Late night cholent consumption is an absolute must for me and for my buddies who enjoy consuming some hot piping cholent after several hours of studying the parsha on Friday nights,” Mr. Kishkowitz said. “I’m sorry, but we’re not gonna allow Mr. Kookstein and his modern-day tech buddies and business entrepreneur pals to ruin our beloved late-Friday night cholent sessions.”
“Let me make this perfectly clear,” Mr. Kishkowitz said, “we do not need need ‘Cholent Control’! Because, it isn’t the cholent that poses a threat to our sensitive stomachs, it is the people who consume the cholent in excessive amounts who pose a threat to the human stomach!’
“I repeat,” Mr. Kishkowitz said, “we don’t need Cholent Control! And, as long as I reside in this town, no cholent safes will be sold in Lakewood Township! Period!”
Dr. Shalom Shalva, a local social worker, told reporters on Thursday that the latest schism between scores of Lakewood housewives and their avid cholent-consuming husbands, like Mr. Kishkowitz, could create sholom bayis problems and completely destroy the nascent cholent-safe industry.
“I’m sure you’ve heard about the shidduch crisis and other similar crises,” Dr. Shalva said. “Well, get ready for the newest crisis, namely, ‘The Cholent & Cholent Safe Crisis’. Because I’m telling you right now that the Cholent/Cholent Safe crisis is gonna make all the other crises look like kinder spiel!!”
“Oye!” Dr. Shalva concluded. “May the Lord have mercy on all of us! And may he bestow his infinite kindness upon the cholent fressers of the world!”
