  1. Very normal driving habits
Some people should have never been allowed to operate motor vehicles. Others should be prohibited from driving after they display their amazing skills.

  2. I don’t know the details of this exact accident.
In general looking at earlier accidents, I think that since nowadays, a car weighs very very little compared to the cars of 1980, if you are going fast and turning at the same time, it is common sense that a light weight car will flip over. It is just like the go-carts in Asbury park, point pleasant and IPlay America in Freehold. A heavy car can handle a fast turn.
SLOW DOWN FIRST AND THEN START YOUR TURNING.

  3. I don’t live in Lakewood but those who do should be presenting these reports and photos to the local Rabbanim who should act now to prevent loss of life. Every other day there is a vehicle which flips and many times all that it left is a total wreckage. There is a mitzva of v’nishmartem m’od l’nafshoseichim which seems to be ignored by large numbers of people in your town. It’s long overdue to start doing something about this!

  4. No matter how many times there are serious accidents, (any accidents), rollovers, passing flashing red lights on buses, running red lights, etc., etc., etc., (so many bad driving displays to list!) there are people who STILL do not change their terrible driving habits!
Someone actually even had the stupidity to drive THROUGH an accident scene and hit somebody, REALLY?!
I have young students who are noticing and expressing their fear to even go outside or get in a car.
    Come on people!!

  5. Since common sense is apparently missing in large measure, and there are no financial repercussions for unsafe driving, it appears that the only way to prevent such all too common accidents is through merciless ticketing and points on driver’s licenses. Merciless!
    For speeding through red lights
    For illegal turns
For failure to stop at signs
    For driving on shoulder
For driving and parking on wrong side
For handheld phone usage and texting
For left turns on red without being in the intersection
    For speeding
For failure to stop for school buses
    Etc., etc., etc.,

We are all up in arms when the police don’t arrest a criminal the moment after. We want the police to protect our lives and property BEFORE anything happens to either. Well, when the same officers ticket you for unsafe driving, or for flying by a school bus that’s letting off children, they are doing exactly that – protecting lives and property. That’s their job, and you cannot expect them to arrive at your home at 3AM because someone is making noise, but to allow drive maniacally around town, endangering everyone else, without repercussions.
If summonses would be issues for every such infraction, fines assessed, and points added, it won’t take long for people to realize that arriving home two minutes earlier isn’t worth $100, and that the very important call could wait until one pulls over, because the hefty fine and mandatory court appearance aren’t a part of unlimited phone plans.

P.S. Still wondering why neighboring towns’ residents are scared of having their quiet and safe suburban developments turning into another half-dozen Lakewoods?

  6. People complain when the state police show up. They complain when people cause accidents due to poor driving. We can’t have it both ways, if you’re paying attention to the road, not your phone, this doesn’t happen.

When I was young, my older brother told me that speeding only saves 1-2 minutes, which is less time than a ticket or an accident caused by speeding.
